|
Doug Simpson has been the pastor of Pinckard Baptist Church since January 1, 1986. He was bivocational for 28 years of his ministry, having worked for state government. Since 2001, he has been fulltime at PBC.
Doug felt called into the ministry when he was 15 years old at Millville Baptist Church. He was ordained in 1970 at the age of 19 when the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church called him as their pastor.
Originally from Frankfort, Doug and his wife Connie have two grown children, Chris and Laurie. Laurie and her husband Jed have a daughter Abby and a son Jacob.
Of Connie, Brother Doug says that he "fell in love with the first girl he ever saw." Doug and Connie were born on the same day in the same hospital and, to top it off, their mothers shared the same room!
Doug and Connie coined the slogan, "the friendly church in the country" and it has always fit Pinckard. Doug's life and ministry, and that of Pinckard Baptist Church, is guided and embodied by John 3:16 (NIV) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Tim and Sandra Redman Ministers of Middle School Youth |
|
Tim and Sandra Redman have always loved kids and have the ability to relate to them as they mature through the middle school years. They strive to help students know what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to live it out daily in their lives.
Sandra is a former children's minister and she and Tim have worked with the middle school youth here since 2005.
Joining Pinckard Baptist in 2003, Tim and Sandra grew up about 50 miles apart from each other in south central Kentucky. Sandra is from Albany in Clinton County near the Tennessee border and Tim is from Nancy in Pulaski County west of Somerset. They have a teenage daughter named Megan.
Tim and Sandra encourage the middle schoolers with Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

"Jeanne" was born and raised in Woodford County and has been a member at Pinckard Baptist Church since she was 12 years old. She LOVES MUSIC and feels, like the song says, "I got the music in me." Like King David, "Jeanne" has a "Psalmist Ministry" -- one that brings calm, and soothes and draws the listener into a worship mode. With music, we can "invite" others to enter into worship and it is a form of praise that ministers not only to the participants but also to the Lord.
"Jeanne" has been involved in music since she was about five years old. She had piano lessons, played clarinet in the band (starting in the sixth grade) and has been in church choir since she was a teenager. She sang a semester in the Oratorio Chorus at Georgetown College and has been choir director here for eight years.
She is married to William (Bill) Evans and has three grown step-daughters, two of whom live in Lexington and one who lives in Clarksville, Indiana. Bill and "Jeanne" have two grandchildren -- Jordan and Sydny.
Her favorite Bible verse is 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV) "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
